How we make America's Favorite Fruit & Nut Candy...
Thank you for visiting Liberty Orchards! Not much has changed since the company began in 1920; we still use only the finest ingredients and slow-cook every batch of candy by hand. Over the years we've welcomed thousands of visitors from all over the world to our little factory here in Cashmere, Washington. Here's a peek of what our guests see as our friendly tour guide leads them through the factory...

Nut Sorting Room...
Our first stop is the nut sorting room. Although all of our premium walnuts, macadamias, and pecans have been carefully inspected before delivery, every box is re-sorted by hand and double checked for imperfections.

Kitchen Cooking Area...
In the spotless kitchen, a delicious aroma rises from special oversized kettles. The cook uses a long-handled paddle and carefully stirs the bubbling concoction of fruit juices, fruit purées, pectin, corn starch, sugar, and flavorings.

Kitchen Pouring Area...
Working as a team, two cook's helpers pour the candy mixture into a smaller kettle. Quickly, they add crunchy nuts, then pour the mixture into long, flat, wooden trays. The candy is then covered and placed in the cooler for 24 hours.

Packing Line...
Slabs of the chilled candy are carried to the packing room where they are cut into bite-sized pieces, then dusted lightly with corn starch, and finally tumbled in powdered sugar. Nimble-fingered packers carefully place the candy into plastic trays. The trays are then packaged in colorful Liberty Orchards boxes.

End of the Line...
The finished product is then sealed in plastic wrap, put into cases, and then delivered to cold storage. From there, Liberty Orchards products are shipped throughout the United States and around the world.

Free Samples and Country Store...
After touring the factory, we welcome guests to free samples of our candies as they browse our Country Store. In addition to Aplets & Cotlets and our many other products, you can shop for a variety of souvenirs, foods, and other creations from across Washington State.
