Liberty Orchards Factory Tour
Thank you for visiting Liberty Orchards! Not much has changed since the company began in 1920... we still use only the finest ingredients and slow-cook every batch of candy by hand. Over the years we've welcomed thousands of visitors from all over the world to our little factory here in Cashmere, Washington. Now we are pleased to offer this "virtual tour" of our traditional candy-making process from start to finish!

To view the movies and "virtual reality" panoramas, you'll need the latest version of Apple's FREE QuickTime 4.0 software installed on your computer and the QuickTime plug-in for your web browser... Click here to download QuickTime 4!

PLEASE NOTE: Under Construction... movies with red "x" not uploaded yet!

Sorting. Nut-Sorting Room.
Our first stop is the nut sorting room. Although all of our premium walnuts, macadamias, and pecans have been carefully inspected before delivery, every box is resorted by hand and double checked for imperfections.
Kitchen Kettles. Kitchen Cooking Area.
In the spotless kitchen, a delicious aroma rises from special oversized kettles. The cook uses a long-handled paddle and carefully stirs the bubbling concoction of fruit juices, fruit purees, pectin, corn starch, sugar, and flavorings.
Pouring Candy. Kitchen Pouring Area.
Working as a team, two cook's helpers pour the candy mixture into a smaller kettle. Quickly, they add crunchy nuts, then pour the mixture into long, flat, wooden trays. The candy is then covered and placed in the cooler for 24 hours.
Packing Candy. Packing Room.
Slabs of the chilled candy are carried to the packing room where they are cut into bite-sized pieces, then dusted lightly with corn starch, and finally tumbled in powdered sugar. Nimble-fingered packers carefully place the candy into plastic trays. The trays are then packaged in colorful Liberty Orchards boxes.
End of the Line! End of the Line.
The finished product is then sealed in plastic wrap, put into cases, and then delivered to cold storage. From there, Liberty Orchards products are shipped throughout the United States and around the world.
